The Glebeholme Project

The Glebelholme Project is a thoughtful kitchen transformation located in a century-old home in East Toronto. Designed to preserve the home’s traditional character while introducing a brighter and more functional layout, the project reflects a careful balance between heritage and modern living.

One of the main interventions was the removal of much of the wall separating the kitchen and dining room. This allowed the space to open up naturally and created the opportunity for a large double-sided peninsula in a rich walnut finish. More than just a functional element, the peninsula acts as a visual anchor that defines the kitchen while maintaining a strong connection between the two living spaces.

The kitchen features our Shaker design in Benjamin Moore’s October Mist OC-55, a soft and calming green-grey that complements the warmth of the walnut beautifully. To create a clean and tailored aesthetic, handleless cabinetry with push-open mechanisms was used throughout, minimizing visual distractions and allowing the materials and architectural details to take focus.

Custom stacked upper cabinets add height and presence to the room, while integrated elements such as the panel-ready fridge, dishwasher, and concealed vent hood contribute to the seamless appearance of the space.

The result is a kitchen that feels warm, open, and deeply connected to the character of the home - a timeless space designed for everyday living, gathering, and comfort.
