Home Tour: Project Roussillon, A Kitchen Designed for Continuity

On Montreal’s South Shore, Project Roussillon stands out for its warm, refined, and timeless approach to design. Here, wood is at the heart of the space: satin-finished red oak fronts bring character to the kitchen and extend into the living area through a custom TV unit crafted in the same finish.

For this kitchen, our satin-finished red oak fronts in our Grip design bring a natural and sophisticated presence to the space. The wood grain becomes an architectural element in its own right, while the satin finish allows the richness of the material to shine through with subtlety. The Grip design adds a contemporary, minimalist touch while preserving the warmth and character of natural wood.

One of the project’s defining features is the continuity created between the kitchen and the main living space. Rather than treating each area independently, the homeowners chose to carry the same material into the living room with a custom TV unit made from the same satin-finished red oak. This repetition creates a natural visual thread throughout the home, giving the entire space a sense of cohesion, as though each area had been designed as part of one unified composition.

The TV unit integrates seamlessly into the space without competing for attention. Its clean lines and matching finish allow the wood to become the visual connection between the two areas, while also providing practical storage and a warm, architectural presence in the living room.

The result is rooted in simplicity, natural materials, and thoughtful details. The red oak brings character, the satin finish highlights its natural grain and variations, and the Grip design gives the space a contemporary aesthetic that remains timeless.

Project Roussillon demonstrates that a beautiful kitchen doesn’t have to exist in isolation. By carrying the same materials and finish into the surrounding spaces, it becomes possible to create a true sense of continuity throughout the home. A thoughtful approach that turns wood into a common thread, giving the entire space a strong, warm, and cohesive identity.
