Classic Slab vs. Prestige Slab: What's the Difference?

When choosing real wood cabinet fronts, it's natural to wonder what sets our Classic Slab apart from our Prestige Slab.

At first glance, they look almost identical. Both showcase the authentic beauty of real wood, feature a timeless minimalist design, and are built with a 3/4" thickness. The main differences lie in their construction, edge finishing, and compatibility with certain door styles.

Here's everything you need to know to make the right choice.

What They Have in Common

Whether you choose the Classic Slab or the Prestige Slab, you'll enjoy:

Real wood veneer

3/4" thick cabinet fronts

A clean, minimalist design that highlights the natural wood grain

A durable finish designed for everyday use

The choice ultimately comes down to the construction details and the level of finish you're looking for.

Classic Slab: An Affordable Option Without Compromising Style

The Classic Slab is made from a particleboard core finished with a real wood veneer. This construction allows us to offer a beautiful wood cabinet front at a more accessible price point.

Benefits

Excellent value for money
Warm, authentic appearance of real wood
Ideal for projects where budget is an important consideration

àWhat Makes it Different

The Classic Slab features a thin edge banding of approximately 0.5 mm, which is barely noticeable from the side of the door. This manufacturing method helps keep costs down while still delivering a beautiful finished product.

It's also important to note that the Classic Slab is available exclusively in our Slab style. If your project combines multiple wood door styles, you'll need to choose the Prestige collection to ensure a consistent construction and finish throughout.

A great budget-friendly option: Pair Classic Slab wood fronts with a second tone from our Polymer Collection for a beautiful two-tone kitchen while keeping costs under control.

Prestige Slab: Premium Craftsmanship Down to the Finest Details

The Prestige Slab is designed for projects where every detail matters. Its core is made from High Density Fiberboard (HDF), a denser and more refined material, finished with a real wood veneer.

The biggest difference lies in the edge construction. The Prestige Slab uses a 2–3 mm solid wood edge, which is then covered by the veneer on the face of the door. The result is an edge that is virtually invisible from the front, creating a much more seamless, high-end appearance.

Benefits

Dense HDF core construction
Virtually invisible edge from the front
More refined, uniform finish

Why Choose Prestige Slab?

A More Refined Finish

Thanks to its nearly invisible edge detail, the Prestige Slab delivers a cleaner, more premium appearance with exceptional attention to detail.

Greater Design Flexibility

The Prestige Slab is compatible with all of our wood door styles, making it the preferred choice for projects that combine multiple door designs.

Good to Know

Our Integrated Handles (Grip, Pull, Round and Square) designs are part of the Prestige collection. Our Stripe, Mini Stripe and Wave designs are also Prestige models. Because HDF is denser, Prestige fronts are slightly heavier than Classic Slab fronts.

Which One Should You Choose?

Choose Classic Slab if you:

Want the best value for your investment
Love the authentic look of real wood
Are using only Slab-style doors throughout your project
Are working within a budget

Choose Prestige Slab if you:

Want a more premium finish
Are looking for maximum visual consistency
Are combining multiple wood door styles in the same project
Are incorporating Grip doors with headers or fillers
Appreciate the finest construction and finishing details
